Event Overview

Dear Colleagues:
On Tuesday, March 2nd, the Subsea Tieback Foundation Fund will be hosting its forth annual Fund Raising Golf Tournament. Its timing coincides with the start of the Subsea Tieback Forum, which this year has moved to Galveston. In the past two years Magnolia Creek has gone private so we are taking advantage of the opportunity by moving this years event to the Timber Creek Golf Club, which will again provide every participant with a great golfing experience. As in past years, its location allows the participants plenty of time to travel to MoodyGardens in time to register, and participate in the evening’s activities. Our industry holds many worthwhile events, and I am proud to participate as a Chairman of this event because of how it will benefit the industry by supporting college scholarships and high school programs that will be developed as part of our long term plans in support of the future of our industry.
We are all aware of the "graying" of our industry and the struggles that we are facing with technology transfer. The Subsea Tieback Scholarship Fund is a 501.c3 non profit corporation that has plans for several programs to help take the best of the engineering student body and steer them towards the oil and gas industry, an industry segment that has been widely ignored by students exploring career options in the past.
In the past year we have funded numerous scholarships as well as sponsoring two significant events that are designed to promote our business to High School Educators, and students who are in the process of deciding on their future career path. We are currently addressing requests to make presentations to various organizations and schools which will provide us with the opportunity to further expand our influence. Cayce Colley, our newest board member is forming a subcommittee to be able to plan our support of these requests as well as some of the others that we are planning. If you are interested in adding your support to these efforts just contact one of the board members, we would love to have you join us.
I would also like to invite you and/or your company to help support these efforts through your participation in the Golf Tournament. Whether as a sponsor or participant, the results of your participation can have a profound effect on the future of our industry.
Thanks for your support.
Regards,
Don Wells Hess Corporation
